CSX Trenton Line CP Berry February 18-19 2004

||||||||||
Last May a rail train dropped new rail for the controlled siding between CP Nesh and CP Berry, and they are just getting around to replacing the old rail. Combine that with SEPTA's wire train working on Track 2 between CP Wood and CP Trent, and CSX is basically single tracked on the Trenton Line between Port Reading and CP Nice. It must be a fun time to be a dispatcher. |

To clear the line, the crane and flat car are parked on the PECO siding south of CP Berry.
The flat car is NYC 725275, an ex-Conrail 89' car still in Merchants Despatch Transportation paint that it wore when it was first leased by the Reading in the mid-1970's. MDT was a subsidiary of the original NYC, so the jade green color now matches the reporting marks.
Also on the siding was Conrail 56132, a former PRR G44A gondola in Conrail MOW gray.
Q176 and W860 passing the work area. Notice the new tie plates dropped on the siding.
