The New Hope and Ivyland Railroad had its annual Railfan Weekend on September 13 and 14, 2003. Unfortunately, Mother Nature was not particularly cooperative on Saturday. Here, between downpours, the 2:00 out of New Hope, powered by NH&IRR 40, passes by Buckingham on its return trip from Wycombe. |

The classic "engineer hanging out the side of the cab" shot as it chugs to meet the 3:00 diesel excursion at Lahaska. |

And right across the street, volunteers from the Electric City Trolley Museum Association work on the restoration of two pieces of equipment for the museum in Scranton. Delaware Electric Power Co. #120, which among other things served as a work car on SEPTA, is one of the lucky ones.
The other fortunate piece is Five Mile Beach Electric Railway Co. #24, a former New York City trolley.
After service on the Third Avenue Railway Co. in New York and subsequent time on the Five Mile Beach Electric Railway Co. in Wildwood NJ, this Brill open air trolley was retired to a leisurely life as a chicken coop before being rescued and earmarked for complete restoration. More information on these and other pieces in the collection can be found here.
