Railfan Pictures of the Week - 07/06/2003
Packer Avenue Marine Terminal South Philadelphia PA June 2003 c. John P Almeida |
As a fitting complement to the celebration this week of the American Revolution which started here on the Atlantic seaboard, here are shots of the Canadian Pacific presence in Philadelphia, namely the former Delaware and Hudson GP38-2 7309, now in Golden Beaver scheme, which was holding down the local power assignment in South Philly. The last shot is facing north from the Packer Avenue Marine Terminal, with a view of the cars on the CP storage tracks along Delaware Avenue, drawfed by the twin smoke stacks of the soon-to-be-restored SS United States. |
