Railfan Pictures of the Week - 03/09/2003
Swedeland PA October 1990 |
Up until the 1990's, an eclectic collection of older equipment could be found in Swedeland PA, on the Upper Merion and Plymouth Railroad adjacent to Conrail's Harrisburg Line. Two of the units were owned by the Anthracite Railroad Historical Society, the rest owned by private parties, who kept the engines and cars there, in hopes that they would be restored in the future. All but one of the pieces has moved on, most to better places. The remaining unit, the ex-Pennsylvania Railroad RS3, is barely a shell, but still can be seen off Route 23. |
