West Chester Railroad, SEPTA Media/Elwyn Branch and SEPTA Main Line June 4 2011 |
Pictures of the consist can be found here. |
The train departed West Chester on time. |
Passing Cheyney Station. |
Under wires at 49th Street. |
Arriving Lansdale about 30 minutes late. As WCRL 4230 does not have clearance to run through the tunnel, it was swapped out at 30th Street for SEPTA genset SPAX 70. WCRL 1803, have spent time on both wire train and wash train duty in previous years, is well acquainted with running on SEPTA territory. |
Once in the yard, they rearranged the train for the run back, first pulling the baggage car and spotting it on the industrial track, then backing the passenger cars up against it before running the engines around the train. |
Once it was all put back together, the train pulled down to the station to pick up the passengers for their return trip ... |
which departed about 30 minutes late, not that anyone was complaining. |
