Railfan Pictures of the Day - 10/27/2010
SEPTA/CSX/NS Stony Creek Branch North Wales PA October 2010 |
October 7 2010 and the bridge over Sumneytown Pike is still standing, but not for long. |
By October 12 the bridge and one of the bridge abutments are gone and the other will shortly join them. |
October 14 and the new eastern abutment begins to take shape. |
The forms for the abutment are set by October 18 and the concrete is being poured. |
Two days later the concrete work is almost finished. |
October 23 2010 is the big day. A second crane has arrived and the new bridge sections wait on flatbed trailers until it is their turn. |
By the afternoon, the new bridge is in place. |
October 25 and the next phase of securing the bridge to the foundation and restoring the rail line on top of it begins. |
