SEPTA Main Line Ambler PA October 19 2009 |
After doing odd jobs since it arrived on the property back in March, SEPTA gen set 70, Class 2GS14B-DE, finally got the gig it was ordered for: the wire train. |
Of course, SEPTA's luck with diesels continued when on its first day of its new job, it died. Mechanical forces both on site and back at home base Wayne Electric were unable to coax it back to life, so they sent RL1A 60 to rescue the train and bring them back. |
The plan is to use former Jersey Arrow 602 and 70 as the basis of a new wire train while the current equipment rebuilt. We shall see. |
