NS Harrisburg Line Bridgeport PA August 27 2009 |
SEPTA has started receiving rail from ArcelorMittal to be used on the Media Sharon Hill Trolley Improvement Project and the Fern Rock Track Renewal Project, two of the many economic-stimulus projects funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. The rail comes in on the CSX transfer run from Philadelphia to Lansdale where it will be taken, two or three cars at a time, by the night job C746 out of Lansdale down to Fern Rock siding. |
August 27 2009 and CSX B738's crew is sent down to South Philadelphia to pick up C746 and bring it back to Lansdale, a formerly rare occurrence that has become commonplace of late. |
In the consist were six flats with 80 foot sections of 100 lb. rail for SEPTA, the first a TTX flat ... |
the other five former TTX and Florida East Coast flats now wearing the reporting marks LBR and GNWR. With SEPTA expecting 132,000 linear feet of rail, there should be about 30 more flat cars coming, a total of 3.7 million dollars worth. |
