The Lansdale Historical Society presentation "All Hail the Trolley", a look back at the area trolleys in the first half of the Twentieth Century, should be available on DVD before Christmas 2008. Check the LHS website for details. |
The North Penn Reporter has a video clip featuring local historian Andy Maginnis, presenter of "All Hail the Trolley", along with maps of the Philadelphia to Allentown route and trolley lines in Lansdale. |
It is July 13 1947 and LVT 701 wears its original paint at Fairview Carbarn in Allentown. |
Three years later, LVT 701 has a new paint scheme as it races south through Hatfield between Stop 54 and Couter Siding in Lansdale on October 22 1950. |
LVT freight trolley 79 stops at School Siding near Center Valley PA on May 8 1950. Here the right of way looks like that of a railroad. |
The next month on June 9 1950, LVT 79 is found with another car south of Quakertown on Ridge Siding, which resembles someone's front lawn. |
