Railfan Pictures of the Day - 11/04/2008

SEPTA Main Line Wyncote PA October 31 2008

Rich Pattison stepped out of his backyard to catch the unprecedented migration of rabid Phillies fans into the city, and the unusual trains that took them there.

A week after the only push pull set on the Main Line north of Jenkintown was yanked off the Warminster Branch, a pair of push-pulls return. Extra 2302 ran up to Glenside to pick up some of the hoards that had descended on the station in hopes of getting a ride into town.
Extra 2307 ran up to Pennlyn before turning, picking up Pennlyn, Ambler and Fort Washington passengers on the way down.
Extra 2307 had the former NJT Comet I coaches that had only been put in service five days earlier on the R5 Paoli/Thorndale Line. Just in time one would have to say.
