Railfan Pictures of the Day - 08/13/2008
CSX Trenton Line Bellevue Avenue Langhorne PA July 22 and 29 2008 |
Once cut, the old rail was removed to just east of the crossing. |
Afterwards the ties and hardware would be removed and the new track panel installed. |
As evening approached, they were just finishing up, with the front end loader dumping ballast, followed by the ballast regulator and the tamper getting their turns. |
By 17:00 SEPTA had resumed normal operations for the evening rush, once again using Track 2 for outbound trains. |
A 10 MPH speed restriction was put into effect for the first two trains to cross the new rail, and Q706 with CSX 8041 became the first to cross. |
Light move X086 was the next train, so lifting the speed restriction would have to wait until the next tonnage train, which came not long after. |
One week later and everything is back to normal. |
