With the imminent arrival of the Silverliner V mockup, growing attention will invariably fall on the cars slated for replacement, the venerable Silverliner II's and III's. Here four of the II's joined a lone III, led by ex-Reading Company Class REB-13 Silverliner II 9010, coming in on Train 524 and laying over in the yard until the evening rush. |
Train 6535 with St. Louis Car Company product Silverliner III 233 on the point passes RL1A 60 on the wire train at Hancock Street. |
The cars of the morning's Train 524 are split to make two trains for the evening runs. Here as Train 555, Silverliner II's 9010 and ex-PRR 217 were joined by Silverliner III 221, which features a more austere SEPTA logo on its cab end as compared to its sister 233 above. |
