NS Harrisburg Line Bridgeport PA and Stony Creek Branch Norristown PA July 15 2008 |
Just as CSX B738 blasts through Bridgeport PA on NS Harrisburg Line, a mischievous cloud creeps into the picture. They have made pretty good time, departing Lansdale at 12:05, calling South Philly yard dispatcher at 14:05 to inform him that they were coupled up with a marker and ready to go, and now approaching Abrams Yard about 15:30. |
After shoving across from Abrams Yard at CP Norris into SEPTA Land, B738 heads railroad west/compass northeast at CP Elm leaving the SEPTA Norristown Line for the Stony Creek Branch. |
B738 passing the R6 Norristown train it just followed up from Norristown Transportation Center. |
B738 trundles up the branch at the maximum speed of 10 MPH, crossing North Wales Road for the first time ... |
then a second time (a little farther down the line, B738 will cross the third time North Wales Road, but this time the trains runs under the road). B738 surprised many late afternoon motorists on a line that hardly has any daytime trains. |
Finally it is the home stretch as they pass the signal at West Point. They would pull into Lansdale Yard just after 17:00, completing a five hour round trip. |
