CSX Trenton Line and SEPTA Fox Chase Line Cheltenham PA May 10 2008 |
May 10 2008 was National Train Day. Where were you? |
Rich Pattison was at his usual haunt at Cheltenham in Philadelphia PA. He caught CSX Q300 heading east with C40-8W 7855 leading the way. |
Shortly after the tail end of Q300 passed Cheltenham Station, just around the curve ... |
came a SEPTA R8 Fox Chase local heading into town ... |
with a pair of single unit Silverliner IV's. Before the Fox Chase separation project, SEPTA dispatched this section of track from Newtown Junction to Cheltenham Junction, running both outbound SEPTA passenger and CSX freight on Track 2. Now Track 2 is all CSX, and Track 1 has passing sidings for SEPTA operations only. |
