East Penn Railroad Perkiomen Branch Pennsburg PA October 7 2007 |
The first two weekends in October, The Perkiomen Valley Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring excursions on the Perkimomen Branch to commemorate their fiftieth anniversary. The motive power for the trips is provided by the restored Reading FP7A's 902 and 903, owned by the Reading Company Technical and Historical Society and the Philadelphia Chapter of the NRHS respectively. Between runs, the power pauses at the end of the line in Pennsburg. |
HEP power for the coaches comes from a generator inside box car PRL 1005. |
The former NJT coaches were borrowed from the Morristown and Erie Railroad. Tickets for the 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM runs for this weekend were still available as of October 9 2007, with the 11:00 and 2:00 PM runs on both days sold out. |
