East Penn Railway Bethlehem Branch Quakertown Station Quakertown PA December 9 2006 |
Santa Claus has always had a soft spot for trains, and when he decided to visit Quakertown PA last Saturday morning, he called on East Penn Railway to lend a hand (and let the reindeer rest up for the big day) by providing their newly painted B23-7 EPRY 3153 as his transportation. |
The word must have leaked out, as a large crowd of well-wishers were on hand to greet him. |
Upon detraining, Santa was immediately surrounded by dozens of happy children who followed him into the restored station for an audience with the big guy, as many of them wanted to let him know about their "special requests" that Mom and Dad might have overlooked. |
After sitting on Santa's lap, many children got to sit in the engineer's seat of 3153 and blow its very steam sounding horn as it posed at the station. |
