Conrail Abrams Yard Upper Merion PA September 1994 |
For real variety in gondolas, nothing beats a Conrail MOW train. Penn Centrail G44A gondola PC 597982, a former Pennsylvania Railroad car. |
Conrail GR51F gondola CR 546550, one of the former Reading GHp gondolas numbered 35000 to 35399, built by Bethlehem Steel in Johnstown PA in 1957. |
Conrail gondola CR 66485 still shows evidence of its life as a Reading GHo mill gondola. |
Although similar in design to CR 66485, Conrail G37 gondola CR 66530 is an ex-Pennsylvania car of bolted construction as compared to the RDG welded construction above. |
This Penn Central 829G gondola PC 35704 is of New York Central heritage and marked for "STUB TIE LOADING ONLY". Another view of this car, as well as more MOW gondolas, can be found at the Conrail Cyclopedia. |
