Conrail Abrams Yard Upper Merion PA September 1994 |
Penn Central H39B hopper PC 454830. |
This photo illustrates a method of identifying equipment heritage used by PC, with PC 454830 labeled P276494, the former PRR 276494. It also appears the ACI label had been bolted on the car and has since been removed. |
Conrail H1E hopper CR 491633 with a relatively new coat of paint. |
A slightly older Conrail H1B hopper CR 488506 with a rather pronounced rust spot. |
In between is Conrail H1C hopper CR 489854. Compare the lettering on the two cars above with the abundance on 489854: what appears to be trust information in three spots (left end side panel, last right side panel and right end side panel), lettering near hopper doors, car dimension and capacity statistics both under the number and on the last right side panel, and it is still wearing both its ACI label to the right and its as-delivered Pullman-Standard logo in the center. |
