SEPTA Main Line Jenkintown PA April 19 2006 |
As part of the continuing signal project between Wayne Junction and Glenside, SEPTA will be working on Jenkintown Interlocking this weekend. They have been working on the new configuration while still operating trains during the week, but the major work starting Friday night will require bustitution of the R1 Glenside, R2 Warminster and R5 Lansdale-Doylestown trains between Jenkintown and Glenside, and between Jenkintown and Noble for R3 West Trenton trains. This bustitution is also scheduled for next weekend, and at least two more weekends in May. |
MOW employees are using a pair of Pettibones to pull a section of track into place. |
The wire train with RL1A 61 rolls through the work area heading for Wayne Electric. To the left you can see one of the new catenary supports that will be used in the new configuration. |

R3 Train 362, having just completed its station stop at Jenkintown, approaches the work area. The consist of 362 was interesting for the fact that not only did it have a Silverliner II, III and a Silverliner IV married pair, but also that the leader, Silverliner IV 155, must have had some cab work done recently as it does not have the end decals that were added a few years ago. |
