SEPTA Main Line Ambler PA April 4 2006 |
A dump truck takes out two tracks of wires in Ambler. Part One is here. |
With the wires on the ground cleared away, SEPTA personnel used a bucket truck to pull the remaining wire taut enough on Track 2 to allow the wire train to pass under it. |
The original plan for the wire train was to spend the day on the R3 West Chester Branch, removing what wire was left there before it was stolen, as much of it already had been. Instead, duty calls, and they made the trip back through the Center City commuter tunnel, here passing the former Fellwick Station in the out of service area which started at MP 13.8. |
Track 2 in the background was now passable for the wire train to do its stuff, and the bucket truck would soon start to work on the wires on Track 1 in the foreground. |
The wire train slowly advances toward the crossing. |
