Amtrak Tie Laying Machine Amtrak Keystone Corridor October 2005

The TLM is working the former Pennsylvania Railroad Mainline between Paoli and Overbrook PA as part of the Keystone Corridor Plan.
The rail in the foreground is an excellent example of why 110 MPH speeds are not yet possible.
The stick rail that is being removed will probably be reused on yard or siding tracks.
Unlike on the NEC (here and here), they are installing welded rail at the same time.
