Amtrak Northeast Corridor Edgely PA August 4 2005 |
Amtrak GP38-2 721 pulling the wire train as it repairs damage from the night before. The tall bridge in the background connects the Pennsylvania and New Jersey Turnpikes. |
After a pause during the morning rush hour, they were back at work, stringing new wire on Track 1. Just after noon, the temperature was in the mid 90's and with the high humidity it felt like 105, making for difficult work in the hot sun. |
Service continued through the work area on Tracks 2, 3 and 4. About to switch over at Grundy from Track 4 to Track 3 to follow Acela Express 2155, Amtrak Train 95 slowly passes the wire train. |
Due to barb wire fences and overgrown vegetation, photography is difficult on this section of the NEC. |
On the tail end of Train 95, with its pantograph up, was the Corridor Clipper geometry car. |
