CSX Bethlehem Branch and SEPTA Lansdale Station Lansdale PA July 14 2005 |
On July 14 2005 SEPTA ran a 6 man Electric Traction Department bucket truck on the Bethlehem Branch from Mill Street in Quakertown to Cannon Avenue in Lansdale. The purpose was to qualify SEPTA personnel for the line which is owned by SEPTA but operated by EPRY from Telford north and CSX from Telford south. Here they are on the Bethlehem Running Track approaching Cannon Avenue, passing a TTX high car that waits on the Bethlehem Industrial Track for the next Stony Creek run to return to Philadelphia. The car is restricted to the Stony Creek route due to clearances along the usual route on the SEPTA Mainline. |
They were kind enough to "pop a wheelie" for the camera. |
The truck pulled up to the Cannon Avenue grade crossing in order to clear the track. |
After raising the outrigger wheels, they roll toward their next destination: the Stony Creek Branch. |
While waiting for a Form D for the Stony Creek, an inspection turns up some tire damage, and the run down the branch is postponed until another day. |
