SEPTA Norristown Line Norristown PA June 24 2005

After shooting SEPTA 51 on the wire train on the West Trenton line two weeks ago and SEPTA 52 picking up the new ballast cars in Lansdale last week, decided to complete the trifecta and catch SEPTA 50 dropping ties on the Norristown Line.
Compared to 52, this engine is a beauty, and the yellow fan is a nice touch.
The four flats, 3 gray and one orange, look like they come from another era and are built like battleships, which probably accounts for their longevity.
Behind the train was a tie handler, picking up ties and placing them on the cart.
A worker flags the crossing as Extra 50, having dropped off all the ties, pulls up to allow the tie handler room to work before both head back to Conshohocken and then Wayne Electric.
