Railfan Pictures of the Day - 06/27/2005
Amtrak Northeast Corridor Zoo Interlocking Philadelphia PA June 25 2005 |
A aerial closeup of Zoo Tower with the NEC in the foreground and the NY-Pittsburgh subway to the right. |
The yard next to Zoo Tower was used for trailer storage (pictures) but has since been cleared. |
For my last trip of the year on the Zoo Balloon, not a single train passed over the bridge, but it still is a pretty sight with Fairmount Park and the Schuylkill River. |
And then, off in the hazy distance, there are the Two Towers: the new Cira Centre on the left and the old Pennsylvania Railroad West Philadelphia steam generating plant smokestack on the right, both just north of 30th Street Station. Compare this picture to a year ago. |
