Railfan Pictures of the Day - 12/21/2004
Amtrak Northeast Corridor Cornwells Heights Station Bensalem PA December 17 2004 These pictures were taken 8 minutes apart and, by coincidence, the trains were in almost the same exact spot when the shot was taken (fairly difficult to do on purpose with a handheld camera considering the trains are traveling over 90 MPH). It used to be easy to tell a train by its consist, but now that the mail is gone, they all seem to look the same. For similarities, both trains have a single engine, one baggage, a heritage diner, Viewliners, an Amfleet cafe and four Amfleet coaches. As a challenge, how many differences can you spot between them? |
I only saw a few: |
1. Amtrak AEM-7AC 925 on 98, AEM-7 907 on 20 (check roof detail) |
2. 98's baggage car has its vestibule door at the east end, 20's at the west end |
3. 98 has three Viewliners, 20 only two (Florida is more popular than New Orleans) |
Amtrak 98 The Silver Meteor at 12:34 |
Amtrak 20 The Crescent at 12:42 |
