CSX/NS/SEPTA Stony Creek Branch East Norriton PA July 29 2004 |
At approximately 3:30 this morning CSX C746 was returning to Lansdale from South Philadelphia via the Stony Creek Branch when four cars derailed, three falling on their sides with two covered hoppers spilling some of the contents which appears to be seeds or grain. Although the line is owned by SEPTA and the train was CSX, NS is responsible for maintenance of the line west of Germantown Pike, so they will be doing the work (or more accurately, will Hulcher do the work and bill NS who will bill CSX?). |
The unaffected cars were pulled to Lansdale by the C746 power, CSX 8820 and 8594. |
