In 2008, the Ohio Valley Railroad Historical Foundation was contacted by Shane Best of the LaGrange Tourism Bureau about the possibility of building a model railroad to run around the top of the Oldham County "Pride of the Counties" Kentucky State Fair booth. Larry Duff of the Foundation designed and built the track system. Members of the Foundation mounted it ten feet above the booth where it ran in front of a photographic pantographic view of Main Street in downtown LaGrange, Kentucky. The Foundation also furnished a railroad crossbuck with flashing lights to draw attention to the booth. The LaGrange Tourism Bureau was the recipient of the Best Exhibit Award and the Foundation sincerely hopes our efforts contributed toward the attainment of this Award. You can view photos of the exhibit along with some railroad relics in the Slide Show below. Please be patient while I add more photos. | |
