Tramway in Japan has produced model railroad products in HO (1:80 scale) and N (1:150 scale) since at least 2008. In 2012 they began offering their first N-gauge tram models, based on Tokyo Metropolitan Bureau of Transportation "Toden" or "Toei" trams, and over time have offered a mix of ready-to-run models, separate body shell kits, and separate power chassis. The ready-to-run models of Type 7500 and Type 8000 trams include lighted headlights, taillights, destination sign and route number sign. The basic, traditionally designed chassis uses a centrally located double-shaft motor with worm gearing to both trucks, with no flywheel.
