In 2012 A.C.M.E., an Italian model train producer better known for HO models, introduced 8 varied display models of Milan "Peter Witt" style trams in 1:160 scale. These were good-looking, well-detailed static models, sold in attractive plastic display cases, in a manner very similar to the Hong Kong tram models of M80 Model Bus Shop. They have variations as the prototype did, without and later with a third, rear set of doors, and equipped with a trolley pole or later with a pantograph. Each model represents a particular tram number, with a particular route and year era for these long-serving prototypes.
A Tomytec TM-TR01 powered chassis can be carved down and made to fit into these shells. This requires carefully cutting out the integrally-cast floor of the plastic model. The fifth model illustrated below (T005) is powered in this manner. - R. D. Kerr
