2026 Officers and Employee Appreciation Specials

In April and June 2026, BNSF ran a pair of passenger train specialist on the Oregon Trunk/Klamath lines. First, on 28 April 2026, an Officer's Special travelled northbound up the line, and then on 12 June the passenger consist returned southbound as an Employee Appreciation Special. BNSF selected for power on its return trip two locomotives the company had just repainted to honor the nation's 250th birthday and numbered 1776 and 2026. The Employee Appreciation Special spent two days in Klamath Falls operating special excursions for BNSF employees in the area before continuing south.
