The Brickyard
The brickyard at Ione was once a major shipper along the Amador Central. Here are some shots of the remains and
the brick carts once used within the plant. Locomotive #334 was assigned as plant switcher here for a time.
Ione
Google satellite view of Ione yard and wye. This was the interchange between the Amador Central and the Southern Pacific, later Union Pacific.
1. Location at the wye of the water tank and sanding towers. The Amador Central depot sat just across the rails.
2.-3. Collection pond and pump site to supply water to the water tank.
