The Ferrymead Railway's Carriage Shed
This Carriage Shed is home to our working
carriages as well as carriages awaiting restoration. It was built in the early 1980s
by work scheme labour and has six roads for the storage of rolling stock.
Work on the front doors and security was recently carried out with help of a Grant from
the New Zealand Lotteries Commission. Much of the track in and out of the Carriage
Shed has also recently been upgraded.
