"The Adirondack" Utica to Carter May 18, 2011 Part 2

The train departed Remsen in the rain as we continued north towards Carter.

At Snow Junction, we stopped to throw the switch for the Adirondack Scenic Railroad Line then stopped before re-aligning it for the Mohawk Adirondack & Northern Railroad Line to Lyons Falls, where we would be going tomorrow.

As we approached Thenadara, here was Adirondack wooden office car C18 which used to be owned by the SOO Line until 1978 when it went to Adirondack Railway's work train service. In 1980 it was place on the tail of the station track in Lake Placid and used as layover facilities for train crews. After the revivial of the railroad by Adirondack Centennial (Scenic) in 1992, C18 became a living quarters for the General Manager(s) till about 1995-96.
