Our Modular Group

Our modular group consist of many old and new modelers who are creative and skilled in all aspects of model railroading. We are constantly changing our modulars to best fit our visions of what the end product will look like. It is a very interesting part of model railroading especially the construction

Modular model railroading is a primary club activity and represents the practice of building 2'x4' (or 2'x6') dioramas or modules (many replicating Cape Cod scenes) containing track and scenery, built to a set of specifications which allow the units to be joined together, creating a large mobile layout. The modular division travels to many area train shows throughout the year, as well as Chatham's First Night celebration. Modular model railroading showcases an individual's modeling skills and provides an excellent opportunity for members to operate their own engines and trains within a venue much larger than could ordinarily exist within one's own home. It allows members with limited space and free time to enjoy and take an active part in the hobby
