The CN railroad has been fixing the yard lead near 17th Avenue in Wisconsin Rapids. Some ballast is red, some is gray. |
More ballast. I didn't pay attention to what changed, I suspect some switching lead has been improved in the distant left, by the orange maple tree. |
An EJ and E orange locomotive was in town for a few days, and then moved on. The autumn color peaked mid-October. It snowed before the leaves fell, there's an inch as I write this Oct 14, 2018 |
You may have been watching the quality of my pictures the last few months. This page is all from an Ultra Disk action camera that was on sale for $32 once at Menards. These things are better than the old Sharper Image cameras with the plastic lense. These pictures were taken under less than ideal conditions, at sunset without a sun, which lowers the quality. The exposure control is quite good for $32. It has a wide angle, 160 degrees, and I have to process a picture to get rid of some barrel or fisheye distortion. And other things, like leveling, because I took these pictures with my pole in a wind. For $32, I can afford to send this camera many places. It works good on a sunny day from a kite. |
