Historic Details, RL SPUR, Rice Lake, Wisconsin

First, I show one more picture of this overall area near downtown Rice Lake.
.

.

Here's a neat shot of SOO Alco 353 crossing near the Rice Lake dam on October 25, 1962, A. Robert Johnson photo, Arlyn Colby collection.

>I noticed your posting on the Rice Lake spur.
>Very nice shots of the bridge and industries from the kite cam.
>I took your photos and then added some information for about the Rice Lake area.
>Take a look. Let me know what you think. Mike Bearden

I used one of his pictures as is.
I zoomed in on the first picture (actually a different picture)
as best I could to re-mark the locations.

A big thank you goes to Mike for describing all these items in the pictures.

the area below is looking about 2/3 of the way distant into the picture above
If I would have known so much happened here, it would have been nice to get a better picture here. But wind, sun (or lack of), and time (never enough) ended my photo session.

.

the Soo Line depot is gone, part of the history of Rice Lake. The Soo Line removed the depot around the same time that it razed many depots along the line.
This was the early 70's, best guess, 1974, 75.
