Grand Rapids of the Wisconsin River

Usually I take pictures that are easy to get,
such as from street level at the main pool of the Wisconsin River by the paper mill.

Sometimes the floodgates are opened.
When the weather is calm and sunny, it's safe to send up the quad copter.
There's not many days when the big pool is calm enough for perfect replections.
The railroad bridge is at the top right of the picture, where the water is so calm this morning.
And it's foamy white below the dam.

Downstream, and the Mead Rapids View Park.

Last Autumn, when the gates were closed, and all the rocks of the rapids appear.
