This picture page would be a lot more colorful if we had some sunshine. Wisconsin had 5 days of rain and clouds. Arkansaw had tornadoes, Florida has flooding. The CN track inspectors were in Rapids. That's always colorful. |
something new to me, a big striped CN in the Rapids yard. |
And I suspect this is a CN train, but it could be UP? . . . . It came in from Junction City. |
Anyway, that's happening on the south end of the yard. Here's my crude map of the area. |
Soon as the southbound's tail clears, these guys move on the north end. |
And pass this short job on the west side junction. . . . . gotta love all that brush cutting last Autumn. It opens up the view. |
In the afternoon, a switch job is pushing cars into the west side, out toward the quarry. They'll be ready for some train to grab after dark, I suppose. This old mainline to Marshfield has some curves in it now. |
A southbound UP mixed freight is holding at the north end for a few minutes. (and i didn't stay around for the UP coal empties coming up behind them.) |
The next day, the blue GT 4620 is by Dura Beauty lane. It has been around Rapids for a month. . . . . . . . . . . . The CN 8100 is back from the Nekoosa turn |
And a UP train is setting out on the UP tracks on the east side of the yard. |
a new blue flat car, MRMX 605. |
