I think this is the 'shuttle' from Wisconsin Rapids. In the late afternoon they pick up a variety of traffic that has been set out from local switch jobs from Erco and Domtar. |
.
There's a tavern where the tracks cross highway 73 by Nekoosa Junction,
with this nice railroad sign.
(I didn't go inside to see if there's more railroady stuff)
They pull west into Nekoosa Junction to set out some hoppers. |
.
Here's a small map of Nekoosa Junction.
. . . . . Switched is off the edge of the map, at the upper right.
And Nekoosa is south.
For a longer story and maps about the area,
see my old web page from 2004:
Nekoosa Junction
And they back up to the highway and then head around the south leg of the wye. |
And around the crossovers south of Erco. |
and arrive in the yard at Nekoosa. |
A paper mill loco is parked. Freshly painted. |
.
And I never noticed before
that there may be some number confusion for locomotive watchers.
. . . . 14 or 15?
