This isn't Wisconsin in the Midwest US, this is the Chehalis River in Aberdeen, Washington. I had some work on the west coast, and had a few hours free on a Sunday afternoon to see things that are much different than at home. In time, I will download the pictures and show them. They are mostly coast scenery, and very few of trains. I will make web pages when the nights get longer. .
The Chehalis River enters Grays Harbor, a big inlet from the Pacific Ocean. Two days before this picture, I saw the water flowing 'backwards' with the change in the tide. |
There is a large drawbridge on the PS and P railroad. It is different from many swing bridges because half of it is over land, instead of the more typical bridge with two water channels. |
.
This is the Wishkah River north of the harbor. |
.
Kite camera aerial view. And US Highway 12 in the distance has two draw bridges. |
.
I didn't get the view I wanted, I was too close and shot over and under. This state is not flat, I had to raise the camera to see the hills and ridges, more so than back home. |
I panned the approach over the land. There's two streets with clearances of 9 feet and 6 feet. |
.
A few blocks away is a nice Star Wars mural. Do Wookies look like Sasquatch? |
