|The track by the Stevens Point depot looked like this for a long time.|
Last month, Water Street was closed a few days to move some track.
The parking lot is full of ballast piles.
And it looks like this now.
The tracks are further from the depot sidewalk.
Will there be changes further up the track to go with that new alignment?
The straight path through the switch suggests the center track will be more important now?
The center track held temporary things like MOW cranes and rail trains.
Long gone are the days when two tracks went past the depot for passenger trains.
And there were two sidings on the south side for passenger cars.
I have gone back to an old photo program to get smaller file sizes for pictures for a web page.
Some might get blurry if you zoom in a lot. But it saves space for the server and downloads very fast.
If you want the full size picture, please contact me. An e-address is in the box on my index page.
