Trains - Canadian Pacific

Canadian Pacific Railway (CP) began in 1881 when Canada's first Prime Minister, Sir John A. MacDonald, envisioned a railway to unite the country. In 1968 they became CP Rail, a name that would last until 1996, when the Canadian Pacific name was reinstated.  CP operates 14,000 route miles. Canadian Pacific also held significant financial interests in the SOO Line.

In April 2023 CP merged with KCS; the combined RR is CPKC.
