The Grand Canyon Railway (GCR) train operates year round on  65 miles of track from Williams, AZ,  to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. The line was built by the Santa Fe in 1901, and saw passenger service until 1967 with freight service continuing until 1974. GCR resurrected passenger service in September 1989.
ALCO 2-8-0
GCR 29 at Williams, AZ, 4/28/11. Built in 1906, No. 29 is a former Lake Superior & Ishpeming Railroad (LS&I) locomotive.
Baldwin 2-8-2
GCR 4960 at Williams, AZ, 5/05/09.  This ex-CB&Q locomotive was built in 1923 (builders plate date, the sign on the pilot says it's 100 years old!). It was retired from regular service in late 2008 to save fuel.  It burned 1500 gallons vs 500 for the diesels per trip.

ALCO 2-8-2
GCR 539 at Grand Canyon, AZ, 4/24/19.  It was built in 1917 for NP and later sold to SP&S where it worked into the 1950's.

Alco 2-8-0
GCR 20 at Williams, AZ, 5/13/02. Built in 1910 for the Lake Superior & Ishpeming railroad, this locomotive has been cosmetically restored, e.g. it's not operational. GCR 20 is longer on the property.

GCR 237 at Grand Canyon, AZ, 4/25/13.  No. 237 is a former Amtrak locomotive.
