The Marinette, Tomahawk, & Western Railroad began in the 1890's to serve the city of Tomahawk in North Central Wisconsin.  It never had more than 50 miles of track and by the 1930's, trackage was down to 13 miles and nicknamed by locals as the "Miserable, Tired, and Weary".  In 2005 MTW was sold to Genesee & Wyoming and renamed Tomahawk Railway with 6 miles of track.
