 Most of the trail is heavily forested.  We should get our first view of Duluth after this rock cut (7/24/01 photo). |
 Passing through another rock cut, we now start down hill. We will drop 600 feet in the next 5 miles!  We pass through several of these rock cuts as we descend into Duluth (7/24/01 photo). |
. The trail passes between rock retaining walls with abundant ferns.  A tree in fiery Fall color greets us as we roll into Duluth! |
