"Go-Loco" Engine Ride Photos: Yountville, Oakville & Rutherford
Welcome to Yountville, CA.

The Wine Train has a station marked by a former Southern Pacific Bay-Window caboose. Some trains stop here as part of a tour package offered
with the Domain Chandon Winery whose vineyards are located behind and beyond the station grounds.

Passing the Domain Chandon Winery and vineyards at Yountville.

Now passing the Grgich Hills Estate Old Vines Yountville Vineyard.

More of Grgich Hills Estate's Yountville Vineyard. Love the mountains in the background!

Now passing the Beckstoffer Vineyards.

The Taddel Vineyards are located towards the left of this photo as the railroad rounds a bend.

Rounding another bend and heading for the next town over of Oakville, CA.

Coming up to one of two "Welcome to Napa Valley" signs, this one is in Oakville, and the other is in Calistoga.

There really truly is no place in the world like Napa Valley!

Now approaching the Oakville Grocery Store and crossing Walnut Lane.

Passing by the Beckstoffer Vineyards To Kalon.

The next vineyard over would be the Robert Mondavi Winery's To Kalon Vineyard!

Passing the Nickel & NIckel Winery.

Grape plants at times do need to be dug up and replanted every so many years, as evidenced by this empty piece of land at Beaulieu Vineyards.
I can only imagine how much that dirt is worth in dollars considering grapes that make some of the finest wines on earth are grown in it!

New grapevines can be seen behind the Beaulieu Vineyards sign.

Welcome to Rutherford, CA.

The varied different types of trees you see here along with the vineyards showing the autumnal foliage, in addition to warm but
not unbearably high temperatures make this a beautiful time of year to visit Napa Valley.

The Neal Family Vineyards have lots of new grapevines! You can see more established vines in the background.

That is one really tall palm tree!!!

Another really big tree! Always interesting to see along the route!

Now approaching the Wine Train's Rutherford, CA Station.

The Rutherford Fire Department is located next to the station.

The Napa Valley Wine Train's Rutherford, CA Station.

Rutherford Station also has its own caboose/billboard!

The north end of the sidings by the Rutherford Station.

Approaching the Grgich Hills Estate Winery where this train would make a stop.

Now taking a break at the Grgich Hills Estate Winery where the train would let passengers off for a winery tour and lunch there. The train
would stop here on the way back to Napa to pick up those passengers. This view was taken from next to Route 29.

A view from the cab while passengers detrain at the Grgich Hills Estate.

The Bale Slough bridge just past the Grgich Hills Estate.

Now passing the Provenance Vineyards, getting close to Saint Helena.

Now approaching the Pestoni Family Rutherford Grove Winery and getting close to the big road crossing with Route 29 up ahead.
