Built by Pullman-Standard in 1948 as a 4 Bedroom-14 Roomette Sleeper for the St. Louis & San Francisco Railway's streamlined "Meteor" and numbered 1466. This train ran from St. Louis to Oklahoma with through-sleepers to Chicago, New York and Washington, DC. The sleepers were all named for rivers along the train's route. Sold to Canadian National in 1965, named "Rainbow Falls" and numbered 2105, the car's stainless fluting was removed. VIA Rail Canada assumed ownership of the car in 1981 and the car was sold to its current owners in 1983. They returned the car to St. Louis, repainted it to the original colors and gave it back to the name "Cimarron River". Historical Information about this car provided by AAPRCO and cimriver.com. |
