Built by Budd in 1949 for the New York Central Railroad as a 5 Double-Bedroom/Buffet/Observation/ Lounge and was originally numbered 10560. It operated on the Central's famous "New England States" in Pullman Service on that train until 1957 when it was retired and sold to the Canadian Pacific Railroad and renamed "Seaview". It operated on Canadian Pacific until being retired in 1969 and sold to the Quebec Mining Company where it was numbered 847. While owned by QMC, it was used as an official car for QMC and U.S. Steel executives. The car was sold to a private owner in the United States and eventually restored and rebuilt to Amtrak standards. The car was purchased by current owner Webb Rail LLC in 2012. Historical Information about this car provided by AAPRCO & Web Rail LLC. |
