In this view from L'Enfant Promenade in D.C., Virginia Railway Express commuter train #303 heads south at 4:15 p.m. on September 13.

Q140 heads north along the old Conrail (now CSX) line near 14th Street in D.C. The dome of the Jefferson Memorial can be seen in the background.

Gone but not forgotten. The blue sign on this building at Benning Yard still says "Conrail." Q130 heads west on the ex-B&O Alexandria extension at 11:25 a.m. on September 13.
